12 year old rye from WhistlePig matured in a combination of casks from the old world of wine. 63% in Madeira casks, 30% in Sauternes casks and 7% in Port casks. This has resulted in a ridiculously complex rye whiskey.

Rye whiskey aged for 13 years with a finish in Calvados barrels, what could possibly be any better? WhistlePig's 2018 Boss Hog Edition was released in honour of their resident Mauve and comes presented at an enticing 57.9% ABV (115.7 Proof). Notes of cooked apple, maple syrup, dark chocolate and French oak spice.
The 2017 edition "The Black Prince" is the 4th release in WhistlePigs Boss Hog - and comes with the honour of having won the "Best in Show Whiskey" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017. The rye whiskey has been aged for 14 years before being finished unusually in Armagnac casks, and bottled at 59.6% ABV.
The oldest Whiskey yet released by Whistlepig is a straight Rye finished in Vermont oak casks which has a much tighter grain and more rings than standard oak so imparts more flavour and depth. Scored a massive 97 points from wine enthusiast and this 2016 release was specially selected by master distiller Dave Pickerell before his sad passing in 2018. His legend lives on with this superb 15 year old Rye.
