In 2002 Fonseca created Terra Prima, the first port to be made entirely using organic grapes. Full of dark fruits on the nose, intense flavours and just the right amount of acidity on the palate, this is a great port that would perfectly finish off a decadent meal. This received a Commendation in the 2016 Decanter World Wine Awards!
Tawny Ports are aged in casks, where they loose their initial ruby red colour and take on the colouring from the wood giving them their amber hue. This 10 year old tawny from Fonseca has become smooth and mellow over the ageing process, with hints of raisin and a definite nuttiness on the palate. The finish is long and elegant, this will be great alongside a variety of cheeses.
