Port

Port is a fortified wine specifically produced in the Douro region of northern Portugal. The name comes from Oporto from where barrels were sent out across Europe. The industry benefited hugely from trade agreements with Britain as the market for French wine dipped during times of war and port has become hugely associated with ceremonial toasts and after dinner drinks in this country.

Why not try this in one of the drinks of the summer - White Port and tonic, with plenty of ice and a sprig of mint, very refreshing!
