The small but significant addition of Syrah to Novals othewise Portuguese varietal based Douro Red, gives an attractive rounding edge to its rusticity. This is abold but charming winem with good bottle age it is a veritable bargain. The Cedro comes from the Cedar tree which dominates the vista at the Noval Estate.
Being a Late Bottle Vintage Port, this 2012 from Quinta Do Noval is ready to drink as soon as it is bottled - making it perfect for a number of occasions. The grapes are trodden by foot and are unfiltered, creating a ruby red Port which will match wonderfully with a range of cheeses or as an after dinner treat!
