Margaret River is a beautiful region in the south west of Australia, it is hailed as the producer of the finest wines the country has to offer - with the ability to rival the top wines from all over the world! This Chardonnay from Bramble Lane is a fantastic example of an entry level wine from this region. A great value, fruit forward wine with a lot to offer in terms of flavour. The palate is wonderfully balanced with notes of apple and a hint of lime, perfectly complimented by a touch of oak coming through on the finish.
The Framingham Riesling vines, planted in 1981, are among the oldest in Marlborough. Grapes for the 2017 Noble Riesling were selected from the old, organically-grown vines on the Framingham estate vineyard. Soils there are of the old river bed type; fist-sized stones composed of greywacke (a hard, dark type of sandstone streaked with quartz and feldspar), mixed alluvial gravel and silt. Vineyard practice for this wine is geared to produce ripe grapes that have had maximum “hang time” on the vine.
A sweet, botrytis-affected wine inspired by the classic German “Beerenauslese” style. The wine is deeply concentrated, yet elegant and not cloying as a result of its vibrant acidity and naturally low alcohol, (9.5% ABV) On the nose, there are aromas of orange citrus, apricot, marmalade and cream with a rich mouthfeel and extract, lots of stone fruit and zesty flavours, all held together with the bright acidity.
Pinotage is a classic South African variety and originates from a 1925 cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault (known as Hermitage in South Africa). The Fairview Pinotage was primarily harvested from bush vines in Malmesbury and Agter-Paarl, some of which are over 25 years old. These older vineyards are dry farmed and the vines grow on deep soils. This is supplemented by fruit from an irrigated, younger, trellised vineyard at Fairview.
Torrontés is the signature white variety of Argentina and is a cross between Muscat of Alexandria and the Mission grape of Galicia. It thrives in Salta, where the climate is cooler. Bodega Colomé’s Torrontés is grown using the pergola system at very low yields to ensure good concentration of aromas and flavours.

The Shiraz grapes were carefully fermented to avoid extracting any harsh tannins, 20% of the final blend is barrel aged. The winemaker also added 5% Malbec at the end of the whole process - a sneaky technique that gives a mulberry fruit twist on the finish.

The final blend is aged on lees for an extended period in French oak barrels along with around 15% from the previous vintage. This ensures a more complex wine with greater palate weight and mouthfeel.

Deep ruby to deep purple colour. Pure strawberry and blueberry fruit abound on the enticing nose. The palate is complex and layered with all spices, cherry, tobacco and plum fruits. Finely structured tannins provide texture whilst a clean acidity maintains freshness. The finish is long and displays ripe blueberry, sweet smoke and dark fruits.
The wine is aged for 6 months in American oak barriques.
