This wine is hand bottled without filtration or fining, and averages 30 years of age. Zesty on the nose, this sweet wine is packed with marmalade and honey flavours along with citrus and apricot. An intense and dry finish follows. Lovely served chilled as an aperitif, or matched with an indulgent desert - either way we think its a must this Christmas.
Karim Mussi made a stunning non vintage wine from an inspiration of Pessace Leognan wines (White Bordeaux). The vines are growing in La Consulta region (Mendoza) over 1 100 metre above the sea level. The main focuses of Karim are innovation, terroir awareness and vineyard sustainability.
Naturally the blend will be Semillon (66%) and Sauvignon Blanc (34%) fermented in French oak barrel and aged on lees.
The wine is crisp with a creamy texture. Aromas are candy citrus like lemon, herbal tea, fresh herbs, ripe peaches, hint of white pepper and a gentle crunchy nuts character. This intense wine can be pair with some cooked creamy poultry, White asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, dark chesses.
‘Everything we do at Altocedro - everything our hands touch – is driven by terroir... We make wine that speaks distinctly of the place it originates, which only makes sense since Altocedro wines are crafted in the finest winegrowing region in Argentina......La Consulta, Uco Valley’ - Karim Mussi.
