PRODUCT RANGE

Australia

Wine was first produced in Australia in 1820 and within two years the first bottles were being exported, so it is no surprise that Oz is the 4th biggest exporter of wine in the world. The major grapes used in Australia are Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Merlot, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc with production concentrated in the cooler southern states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. The standout wine in the country is Penfolds which rivals the best in the world but we also have a range to suit every palate and occasion.

2015 Tapanappa Tiers Vineyard Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay - (Bottle - 1/75cl)

Chardonnay vines were planted in the Tiers Vineyard in 1979. The grapes are harvested by hand and quickly transferred to a cold room at the winery (2C). The grapes in their bunches are tipped into a press extracting the juice gently. After gravity settling the juice is transferred to either new oak barrels or old barrels that have produced wine once or twice. Fermentation then starts. The juice and lees are regularly mixed until the summer when the wine is filtered and bottled.
