Dynamic wine region due by the fact of winemaker have been improved the wine quality in the last 20 years. It has shaken off the image of light mass produced wines of the 1970’s. It is the largest wine region in France as regards the area under vine. It also has a great diversity or grapes, soils and style of wine (Sparkling, still and sweet wine).

2015 VDP d'OC Viognier Domaine Moulinier (Bottle - 1/75cl)

Viognier became famous in the production of the great Rhone wines of Condrieu. It is now made globally, offering exotic vibrant aromatic wines. This St Chinian example is maybe a tad drier and fresher than some, really well made and interesting. it is also surprisingly resilient, with time in bottle it shows, delicate flecks and nuance, and retains a wonderful freshness.

2009 Rivesaltes Grenat Laetitia Domaine Deneufbourg - (Bottle - 1/75cl)

Produced using 100% Grenache grapes from a single plot, this wine was selected within a list of best wines under $20 by La Revue des Vins de France. An intense nose of raspberries and a note of spice here, with cherry and raspberry on the palate. Velvety tannins appear, followed by an intense and long finish with a hint of freshness.

From the relatively new and audacious Chapoutier project in Latour de France, Roussillon. It is a blend of Grenache (65%) and Syrah (35%) from the Domaine de Bila-Haut. This bold terroir is composed of stony soils, giving smooth and spicy Syrah, and providing for garrigue rich Grenache (70 year old vine). The wine is energetic, elegant, and boasts a deeply spiced palate. Good minerality on the finish.

2015 Vin de Pays D'Oc Chardonnay Domaine de Tholomies - Organic (Bottle - 1/75cl)

Domaine Tholomies lis in the foothills of the Montagne Noire, about 30 km from Carcassonne. The soil is diverse and effectively optomised to produce the best grapes per varietal. The blend of Chardonnay and Viognier is a modern food friendly white, but great to enjoy on its own too, the aging on lees adding a fresh minerally element to the lively forward tropical style.

Beautiful pale pink organic rosé from Languedoc-Roussillon.On the nose, mineral notes of redcurrants. Palate: very fresh on attack. Intense notes of citrus (tangerine) tangy sweetcurrant and hint of blackcurrant. Good length with floral notes of white rose.
