The Bordeaux blend has been copied with considerable success in many other wine regions, the ultimate compliment. The Left Bank of the Gironde River boasts the great Chateaux of the Medoc and Graves, whilst on the Right Bank, Saint Emilion (arguably the most beautiful commune) and Pomerol. Bordeaux is synonymous with the finest quality, predominantly in red wines though great dry whites are made in the Pessac Leognan, and most wine lovers will strive to taste the sweet white wines of Chateau Yquem and its neighbouring Chateau in Sauternes and Barsac.
The commune of Margaux takes its name from its finest vineyard, Chateau Margaux. Close to the Gironde as are many of the finest vineyards in the Medoc, Paul Pontallier and his team are masters of finesse.
Chateau Haut Maco has 54 hectare of vineyards in Cotes de Bourg. This appelation is situated at the north of Bordeaux on the left bank of the Garonne river.
The estate is run from Mallet family since 4 generation
Annual production is 35 000 bottles for the Cuvee Jean Bernard.

Vigneron Pierre Seillan produced an elegant wine at Chateau Lassegue in 2008. Comprised of 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on clayey limestone soils, this wine offers aromas of dark berries and spice with the palate displaying a fresh acidity and excellent balance. This is drinking beautiffuly right now.
