The Bordeaux blend has been copied with considerable success in many other wine regions, the ultimate compliment. The Left Bank of the Gironde River boasts the great Chateaux of the Medoc and Graves, whilst on the Right Bank, Saint Emilion (arguably the most beautiful commune) and Pomerol. Bordeaux is synonymous with the finest quality, predominantly in red wines though great dry whites are made in the Pessac Leognan, and most wine lovers will strive to taste the sweet white wines of Chateau Yquem and its neighbouring Chateau in Sauternes and Barsac.
Made using the Merlot grape, the rose from Chateaux Cailleteau Bergeron is packed with fruity flavours with just a hint of rose petals in the background. This is a very soft and round wine with a lot to offer, an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine – superb value.
This second wine of the ever improving Chateau Lynch Moussas, offers smoky tabacco aromas a generously textured palate, and a really impressive length. This is classified as Haut Medoc but the stylistic Pauillac vineyard characteristics are evident.
Unlike its big brother in Pauillac, the second wine of Chateau Lynch Moussas is produced from vineyards in Haut-Medoc. Fresh red and black fruit aromas fill the glass with a touch of spice. Everyday claret!
A venerable vintage from Chateau Brane Cantenac, demonstrating the longevity of wines from this estate. 1966 was a good year for the Medoc and this wine is worth taking a chance on! A fully mature wine which should be drunk sooner rather than later!
This is a full bodied wine from Chateau Saint Paul, deep red in colour with a good level of acidity and red fruits on the palate. The savoury notes here make it an ideal match for a joint of beef or perhaps a piece of venison. A top quality wine at a great price.
This is a lovely, mature St Emilion offering those desirable tertiary aromas and flavours (coffee, tobacco, nuts) balanced wonderfully with the Merlot's ripe and rich characteristics and a fresh acidity.
An absolute Bargain!
Situated between the Medoc, Graves and Saint-Emilion is Chateau Le Grand Verdus, alongside the vineyard is a magnificent castle dating from the Renaissance period. It is here amongst these beautiful surroundings that the 2011 Le Grand Verdus Rose is created. Beautifully fresh and fruity, this is a delicious wine with a definite intensity, so easy to drink!
Another medal winner from the 4th generation family-owned domaine. Deep colour with crimson tints. Brimming with black fruit flavours (black berry, black cherry), red fruits (cassis, crushed strawberry) and liquorice. Mineral, spicy
and toasty. Medium-bodied, mouth-filling texture and balance, with ripe and fine tannins. Long on the finish.
Great with red meat, grilled meat and game. Also well suited for
pasta, red sauces and cheese.

This unoaked Bordeaux Sauvignon has to be one of the best value wines in our portfolio, its fresh green fruit aromas and notes are very refreshing, and the flavours linger very well.
Rieussec is one of the top producers of Sauternes in the world, creating many memorable and delicious vintages. Carmes De Rieussec is the second wine from the Chateau, and tends to have aromatic flavours with a focus on citrus notes. The 2012 offers aromas of apricot, citrus and pineapple, combined with a concentrated fruity palate. The finish is long with honeysuckle and cleme…
