The Bordeaux blend has been copied with considerable success in many other wine regions, the ultimate compliment. Despite low yields of the grape, the 1994 Cheval Blanc is a Cabernet Franc vintage, with the aromatic intensity of which permeating through the wine. Lacking the weight of the 95, this wine focuses on freshness and elegance. Now at its peak, this should be drunk over the next five years.

The 2010 has been compared to the delicious 1988, in that it has a similar kind of liveliness and character which comes through on the palate. The concentration of flavour is a little lighter than the 09s, but its the freshness here that stands out. Another fine vintage from dYquem, drink from 2018-2035.

This is a round and powerful wine for aging, with subtle tannins. A beautiful garnet red colour and intense, fruit of a well-controlled extraction. Nose of candied red fruit, vanilla and spicy notes. After aeration, notes of blackcurrant and cooked red berries, combining power and suppleness, emerge. These impressions are confirmed in the mouth. Supple and round, the palate is well balanced and structured by firm and persistent tannins on the finish supported by elegant woody and spicy notes.
