Scotch Single Malt Whisky
These are whiskies that have been distilled at one distillery only, aged for at least three years and bottled above 40% abv. No grain whiskies can sit within this character, only those that have been made purely with malted barley. There are six regions where Scotch single malts are produced, these typically define the style and character of the whiskies. Speyside and Highlands are renowned for those rich and fruity styled whiskies, whilst Islay is home to the peat smoke.
A 27 year old Glen Garioch whisky that's been bottled as part of Càrn Mòr's Celebration of the Cask range. After being distilled in March 1991, it matured in a single bourbon barrel until being bottled in April 2018.
Blair Athol is usually a workhorse distillery for Bells, but this is an interesting release bottled as part of Càrn Mòrs Celebration of the Cask range. Its spent 26 years in a hogshead and has been bottled at full cask strength of 52.7% ABV.
Another striking release from the Special Releases series of 2017- the sixteenth bottling of Brora in the iconic series. Just 3,000 bottles were produced, drawn from refill American oak hogsheads which were initially filled in 1982.
Wemyss Malts always produce something of great interest. It names its whiskies after the flavours it produces, and Tropical Island Dram is a fruity and, well, tropical offering that was distilled at Bunnahabhain distillery in 1991.

Single cask Bunnahabhain, distilled in November 1991 and aged for two-and-a-half decades in a refill hogshead. After an extensive maturation period, the whisky was drawn from the cask and independently bottled by Douglas Laing's as part of their Xtra Old Particular range. Just 241 bottles were produced.
A lovely single Sherry cask Bunnahabhain aged for a quarter of a century and bottled by independent bottler Duncan Taylor under the " Dimensions" range. Distilled in November 1991 from lightly peated barley and bottled in April 2017 at natural cask strength of 48.2% Non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
Released by Douglas Laing for their Xtra Old Particular range, this 26 year old Bruichladdich was distilled in 1991 and aged in a refill hogshead cask until November 2017. A small outturn of just 301 bottles were filled from the cask.
A small batch Bowmore aged for 26 years in ex-bourbon barrels, and released by Morrison Mackay to mark the legacy of Chairman Brian Mackay's. Distilled in 1991, this whisky was bottled in 2017 at natural cask strength around the time of Brian's retirement from the company.
A healthy looking Bowmore here which was distilled in 1991 and spent 24 years in a single sherry butt. Càrn Mòr managed to bottle just 560 of these, for their Celebration Of The Cask Black Gold series.
A small batch limited release of Bowmore from independent bottling company Carn Mor, aged for 26 years and a vatting of just 4 Ex-Bourbon barrels filled on the same day (10th May 1991) and bottled on 20th November 2017 with only 565 bottles available.

Independently bottled single malt Scotch whisky from the now-sadly closed distillery of Port Ellen. It was distilled on the Island of Islay in 1982 and bottled in August 2016 by Douglas Laing. After 33 years of maturation in cask #11120, there was a small outturn of just 198 bottles produced.
A heavily-sherried bottling of 33-year-old Port Ellen for the Old & Rare Platinum Selection by Hunter Laing. Just 108 of these were filled from the single sherry butt, once housed in what is now the lost distillery on Islay - Port Ellen.
A very well-aged single cask Bowmore distilled on the Isle of Islay in 1982 and matured for over three decades. It was released in 2014 by independent bottlers Wemyss Malts and titled Loch Indaal Catch to best describe the character of the whisky. 165 bottles were filled from the hogshead cask.

A 31 year old single malt Scotch whisky presented in a hand crafted case, made from the cask itself that matured this exact Spirit! Independent bottlers Duncan Taylor have done a fine job with the Tantalus bottlings.
With just 102 bottles produced, a 22 year old Lowland single malt from the Bladnoch distillery. The whisky was distilled in August 1991, left to mature in a single cask for 22 years until it was bottled in March 2014 at natural cask strength (45.7% ABV). An absolute champion of a whisky, packed with an abundance of sweet fruits.
Single cask Lowland whisky from Hunter Laings Old & Rare Platinum Selection. This 24 year old Auchentoshan was distilled in October 1991 and left to mature in a refill hogshead. Once emptied in April 2016 the cask filled a total of 2016 bottles at natural cask strength.

The whisky was distilled back in 1991, left to mature for a whole 23 years before being bottled at 56.6% ABV in January 2015. A lovely appearance on this Mortlach, Commonly known for being a sherried Speysider.
This single cask Macallan was bottled exclusively for the Old & Rare Platinum Selection by Hunter Laing. It was distilled in Speyside in 1991 and spent 25 years maturing in the cask before being bottled at 51.2% ABV.
Very little of this mysterious distilleries single malt was available as either official or independent bottling's until a 23 year old Taiwan only release appeared on the market in 2013. Batch 3 is also a 23 year old aged in American Hogsheads and Ex- Sherry butts. A rarely seen Speyside malt owned by the Grant family of Balvenie and Glenfiddich fame and packaged in 35cl size bottles.
Released in the 15th batch of BenRiach's splendid cask strength series, this is one of the older releases. It's a 26 year old Speyside whisky that has lived in a Burgundy Cask before being bottled at 49.4% ABV. 270 bottles were produced.

Distilled in December 1991, this single cask Bowmore spent 26 years maturing in a Sauternes wine cask until May 2018. Just 287 hand-numbered bottles were released and presented at natural cask strength. The Lowest Tide is the second release in the Woolf Sung Collection, and the first one from Isle of Islay.
