Scotch Single Malt Whisky
These are whiskies that have been distilled at one distillery only, aged for at least three years and bottled above 40% abv. No grain whiskies can sit within this character, only those that have been made purely with malted barley. There are six regions where Scotch single malts are produced, these typically define the style and character of the whiskies. Speyside and Highlands are renowned for those rich and fruity styled whiskies, whilst Islay is home to the peat smoke.

The second release from the series of vintages from the Cù Bòcan, or rather ghost dog range by Tomatin. This Limited Edition 1988 vintage was left to mature in ex-Islay single malt casks to gather its peated character. 2,200 natural cask strength bottles were produced.
Here’s a fun whisky - this is a 28 year old single cask release that was distilled at Blair Athol in 1988, which was matured in two hogshead casks. Released in the late 2017, this was an outturn of 427 bottles.
Another striking release from the Special Releases series of 2017- the sixteenth bottling of Brora in the iconic series. Just 3,000 bottles were produced, drawn from refill American oak hogsheads which were initially filled in 1982.
With only 497 bottles of this 1981 vintage Dalmore whisky released, this one spent its years maturing in a cask which once held sherry from the well-known producer, Gonzales Byass.

An indie release of Brora from Duncan Taylor as part of the "cask strength rare auld" series. Distilled in November 1981 a couple of years before the distillery was closed and bottled in the same month of 2008 after 27 years in a single cask and bottled at 53.8%
From family-owned company Gordon & MacPahil comes this exceptional indie bottling of Glenesk which was distilled in 1980 and bottled in 2014. It was released as part of their Old & Rare range.
Old Particular bottlings are from a single cask without chill-filtration or added colour, the result being the unique combination of the elements of that whisky and that cask.
A release of just 221 bottles, Bittersweet Baklava is a pretty tasty sounding Bunnahabhain from independent bottler Wemyss Malts. After 28 years of maturation inside a single hogshead cask, it was released at a very average 46% ABV.
Port Ellen of this age tends to make most whisky collectors weak at the knees, so you'd better snap it up. Bottled for Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, it was distilled in 1982, matured in a single refill hogshead cask for 34 years...
Independently bottled single malt Scotch whisky from the now-sadly closed distillery of Port Ellen. It was distilled on the Island of Islay in 1982 and bottled in August 2016 by Douglas Laing. After 33 years of maturation in cask #11120, there was a small outturn of just 198 bottles produced.
A heavily-sherried bottling of 33-year-old Port Ellen for the Old & Rare Platinum Selection by Hunter Laing. Just 108 of these were filled from the single sherry butt, once housed in what is now the lost distillery on Islay - Port Ellen.
A very well-aged single cask Bowmore distilled on the Isle of Islay in 1982 and matured for over three decades. It was released in 2014 by independent bottlers Wemyss Malts and titled Loch Indaal Catch to best describe the character of the whisky. 165 bottles were filled from the hogshead cask.
Released by Duncan Taylor as part of the Tantalus range, this is quite something from the Bowmore distillery. A 31 year old single malt Scotch whisky presented in a hand crafted case, made from the cask itself that matured this exact Spirit! Independent bottlers Duncan Taylor have done a fine job with the Tantalus bottlings.
An italian import release of an 18 year old Port Ellen under the "Provenance" series of seasonal distillation releases from Douglas Mcgibbon. This legendary closed Islay distillery has now been given a new lease of life and set to reopen but in the meantime this is a rare chance to try the malt distilled way back in the winter of 1981.
A 36 year old from Wemyss Malts Autumn 2017 releases, distilled at Caol Ila! Carpaccio Salsa Verde is the oldest release from the twelve bottlings brought to us by Wemyss. Distilled in 1981, this rather peaty single malt Scotch whisky was drawn from a single hogshead cask and bottled at 46% ABV.
