Campbeltown
Located on Western Scotland's remote Mull of Kintyre, this enigmatic region once stood as the global capital of whisky production. Over the past two centuries, Campbeltown has been home to some 34 distilleries! Competition and the strain of the first World War saw a decline in the number of distilleries, but not the quality of the whisky produced. Today, only three distilleries remain in Campbeltown, yet they continue to operate as some of the most traditional in Scotland, using labour-intense manual approaches to production, captivating enthusiasts the world over.
