They must be aged for at least three years in cask and the final product must come from one distillery, not a blend of distilleries. The folks back at the old distillery will tell you it’s an very approachable whiskey with a rich‚ warming taste of fresh fruit and vanilla. It has a fruity burst that sits on the tongue before turning to honey in your jowls.
Distilled at the Cooley distillery, Connemara is a peated Irish single malt - and there's not a lot of that about. An interesting dram for those who like their peated Islay whiskies, who want to try something a bit different.
An interesting dram in the Jack Ryan Beggars Bush Irish whiskey range. The Bourdega is a medium-aged 15 year old single malt whiskey. After being matured in US oak, the whiskey is then finished in Sherry casks for extra flavour. Its bottled at 46% ABV.
The 5th and final release of the Teeling Revival series that saw this new Dublin based distillery releasing a small batch of different cask finished single malts. This is a 12 year old finished in Cognac and Brandy casks and limited to just 15,000 bottles.
