After years of anticipation, Cotwolds have released their single malt whisky! Distilled in copper pot stills with barley from the very area in south-west England and matured in both red wine and ex-bourbon casks, the result brings notes of orchard fruit, honey, and up-front spice.
The Cotswolds distillery embrace the "grain to glass" philosophy and since releasing their first Whisky in October 2017 to rave reviews have now released their first cask strength edition. Matured in specially selected charred, toasted and re-charred American oak red wine casks and bottled at 60.9% ABV with only 2800 bottles available.
Indie bottlers from Kent, That Boutique-y Whisky company, have taken a liking towards the Norfolk-based English Whisky Company, so much so they've gone and bottled a second batch of their superb single malt. This time, they've released an 8-year-old presented at 52.3% ABV. 845 bottles were produced in the batch.
