Closed Distilleries
These rare and highly sought after bottlings come from distilleries that have either been mothballed or knocked down for good and lost forever. This was due to a number of reasons and changes in economy over past centuries; US prohibition drying up export trade to the states, followed by the Second World War. Some of these popular distilleries were Port Ellen, Rosebank, St. Magdalene and Brora.
