23 year old grain whisky from the Girvan distillery in the Lowlands, bottled by Carn Mor as part of the Celebration Of The Cask range. Single grain whisky becomes something wonderful with plenty of age, and this 27 year old Girvan grain whisky for Càrn Mòr’s Celebration of the Cask range is a great example. Distilled in December 1989, it was matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled in October 2017 at 51.4% ABV. Interestingly, only a mere 76 bottles were produced.
Douglas Laing is known for putting out great single casks of grain whisky, and this is no different. It’s distilled at Girvan distillery in South Ayrshire in December 1989, then was left to mature for 27 years in a refill hogshead cask. Bottled in November 2017 at 51.5% abv with only 148 bottles released.
