1989 Girvan 23 Year Old Celebration of the Cask 52.8% (Bottle - 1/70cl)

23 year old grain whisky from the Girvan distillery in the Lowlands, bottled by Carn Mor as part of the Celebration Of The Cask range. The whisky was distilled in April 1989, left to mature in single bourbon barrel #37525 until it was bottled at natural cask strength in February 2013. Just 177 bottles were produced.

1989 Girvan 27 Year Old Celebration of the Cask #167863 51.4% (Bottle - 1/70cl)

Single grain whisky becomes something wonderful with plenty of age, and this 27 year old Girvan grain whisky for Càrn Mòr’s Celebration of the Cask range is a great example. Distilled in December 1989, it was matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled in October 2017 at 51.4% ABV. Interestingly, only a mere 76 bottles were produced.

1989 Girvan 27 Year Old - Old Particular 51.5% (Bottle - 1/70cl)

Douglas Laing is known for putting out great single casks of grain whisky, and this is no different. It’s distilled at Girvan distillery in South Ayrshire in December 1989, then was left to mature for 27 years in a refill hogshead cask. Bottled in November 2017 at 51.5% abv with only 148 bottles released.

Among many of those in the know about Single Grain Whisky, the Cambus distillery produced some of the best examples of this lesser known style.In its heyday before closing in 1993 it was highly regarded by blenders and described as ‘the whisky with an individuality – notably different to all others in peculiar delicacy and charm of flavour – mild and mellow. Not a headache in a gallon.’ This is a mighty 40 year old distilled back in 1976 and bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the XOP range and an bottled at an impressive 53.1% ABV
