Blended Malt Whisky
Blended malt whisky relates to the term of using no grain whiskies in a blend, simply 100% single malts. These type of whiskies are more complex than blended Scotch whiskies that contain a percentage of grain in their blend, which is cheaper to produce. A particular bottler of Blended malts that we love are Compass Box, who are always pushing the boundaries and experimenting with great new blends.
The second limited edition bottling from Douglas Laings Yula series! This blended malt Scotch whisky is made up of whiskies aged for a minimum of 21 years. All of which were taken from the Islands, including Islay. Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration neither colouring, just 900 of these were produced.

A great little blended malt released by Ian Macleod. Six Iles as the name might suggest is a blend of single malts from six different islands with one of the Arran, Jura. Islay, Orkney, Mull and Skye based distilleries represented here. A lightly peated and coastal influenced beauty.
The now discontinued version of Naked Grouse that is a blended Scotch still with the same core single malts of Macallan, Glenrothes and Highland Park as the new replacement that is now a blended malt. The grain Whisky element here gives a slightly more softer/creamier element to the blend but both are great level entry Scottish Whiskies for the beginner and expert alike.
Douglas Laing have now covered all the Scottish whisky regions with their Remarkable Malts range. The Gauldrons is a blended Campbeltown malt and translates as "Bay of Storms" in Gaelic.

The Corriemhor is a mystery single malt Scotch that is a fine choice to accompany a cigar and is matured in a combination of Ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks. Specially selected by Master blender Richard "The Nose" Paterson of Dalmore and Jura fame and quite reminiscent of one of those in style!

Old Perth, named after the Scottish location, is Morrison & MacKay's blended malt range, and this one is the peated variant - and excellent value to boot.
Now one of the most popular brands of Whisky out there! a blended malt produced by the Grant family that combines the families three single malts of Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie to crowd pleasing effect. Monkey Shoulder takes its name from the injury suffered by the distillery workers that used to have to turn the barley by hand with shovels.

An Extravaganza of spice from this new limited edition blended malt by Compass Box. Here, theyve taken the idea of their regular Spice Tree expression but used older whiskies, including some drawn from first fill sherry butts. Their well-known hybrid casks have also been put to good use with this experiment.
The award winning malt whisky is back. Aged on heavy toasted, new French oak sourced from 195 year-old Vosges forests. The nose suggests clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
