Blended Malt Whisky
Blended malt whisky relates to the term of using no grain whiskies in a blend, simply 100% single malts. These type of whiskies are more complex than blended Scotch whiskies that contain a percentage of grain in their blend, which is cheaper to produce. A particular bottler of Blended malts that we love are Compass Box, who are always pushing the boundaries and experimenting with great new blends.
Siar Port is a vatting of two single malt distilleries, although predominantly the whisky comes from just one of the Highland distilleries (with a dash of the other). Distilled in 1997, the whisky was matured in a bourbon barrel, and 685 bottles were released at 46% ABV.
