What is now known as a blended malt, this Strathconon 12 year old was a blend of single malts released sometime in the 1970's at the old 70 proof. Released by James Buchanan & co, one of the early Whisky barons and pioneers of the early 1900's and of "Black & White" blended Scotch fame. Rumoured to be a blend of Mortlach, Glenlossie, Aultmore and Glentauchers single malts and named after a remote Highland glen that was the site of many illicit distilleries.
