Cremant wines are a great alternative to Champagne as they are made in a similar way, but cannot be labelled as such since the grapes are not grown within the Champagne region. Alsace produces more than 50% of all Cremant wines, thanks to the dry and sunny climate the grapes ripen well and produce wonderful bottles. This Cremant from Arthur Metz offers fruity flavours of peach and nectarine with well balanced acidity on the palate. Fantastic value and definitely worth a try!
Spanning approximately 60 hectares, the vines at Rovereto are an average of 25 years old. The harvest is done by hand and the wine is aged for around 5 months in steel tanks, and further refined once it hits the bottle. This is an intense yet delicate wine with fresh fruit flavours such as green apple on the palate, the finish is long with a definite elegance.
