Blended Malt Whisky
Blended malt whisky relates to the term of using no grain whiskies in a blend, simply 100% single malts. These type of whiskies are more complex than blended Scotch whiskies that contain a percentage of grain in their blend, which is cheaper to produce. A particular bottler of Blended malts that we love are Compass Box, who are always pushing the boundaries and experimenting with great new blends.
Another great whisky from the Remarkable Malts range by Douglas Laing, The Epicurean is a marriage of Lowland malts bringing forward those citrus and floral notes. The packaging symbolizes The Epicurean by featuring even the small details of the two cocktail shakers and the barley husks.
An excellent whisky packed full of coastal elements, the real beast of peat, this one. This whisky is un-chill filtered before being bottled at 46% ABV. Notes of barbecue, peat smoke, a touch of sweet fruits and a big smoky finish.
A seriously smoky release from the Angels Nectar range, featuring a selection of Highland malts. The Rich Peat edition screams peat smoke, followed by fruity sweetness and chewy toffee.
