Master Blender David Stewart received a small number of rare rum casks from the now-closed Caroni distillery in Trinidad, which previously held 10-year-old rum, and decided to fill them with 20-year-old Balvenie from traditional oak casks. After a 7-year finish on rum, the whisky has developed rich and indulgent notes of muscovado sugar and manuka honey, complemented with hints of tropical fruit and treacle toffee.
