2018 Bouchon Family Semillon Granito Maule Valley - (Bottle - 1/75cl)

It all started with Emile Bouchon at the end of the 19th Century. Today Julio Bouchon (4th generation) and his children carry on the family tradition of making distinctive and terroir-driven wines.

Granito wine is from a micro terroir in granite soil which is more than 120 million years old. This Semillon grape is from Block 1 Butuco’s vineyard in Maule Valley. The vines were planted in the 1940’s. The vineyards are situated 183 metres above the sea and don’t receive irrigation. The old vines with deep roots give a pure, sensational wine.

Hand-harvested in small boxes (12 kg), the grapes are pressed. Then the juice is fermented in French oak between 15-18C for 14 days with native yeast. The wine is aged in large barrels (70%) and French oak barrels (30%) for 12 months.
