The original Tour is from the 11th century. This fortress was inhabited by the English as early as the 12th century.
Since 1999, the highly regarded Bernard Magrez has been in charge of Château La Tour Carnet, with impressive results. He started with 44 hectares. He owns the largest classified growth in Bordeaux with 191 hectares in 2018.
The property lies in the Haut Médoc. Only 2 hectares are dedicated to white grapes like Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle.
