2016 Saint Joseph Sainte Epine Domaine Michelas St Jemms (Bottle - 1/75cl)

The Saint-Joseph Sainte Épine red vines are around 30 years of age, and grapes are hand-picked, respecting traditional methods. Saint-Joseph then undergoes vinification by plot, in barrels and truncated cone vats. The wine is matured for a year in the same containers.
The soil is composed of weathered granite, and the vines on the terroir of Saint-Joseph appellation draw their minerals from deep down in the earth. Grape quality here is enhanced thanks to the South-facing terraces the vines are planted on. The Syrah of Saint-Joseph, is distinguished by a freshness and elegance which reveals itself on the palate through pleasant aromas of red fruit, such as blackcurrant, liquorice and pepper, after being kept for several years.

Established in 1961, Domaine Michelas St Jemms remains a family run estate (Sylvie, Florence Corine and Sebastien). They operate with a focus on respecting the vines and the land in order to ensure that only the best wines are produced.
