2015 Fonroque St Emilion Grand Cru (Case - 12/75cl)
Owned by Moueix family since 1931.In 2002, Alain Moueix with his uncle and aunt decided to turn the vineyard into an organic culture. After many years, in 2008 they get the biodynamic label. The first Chateau to get this statue.
20 hectares of vine grown on clay, limestone and sandy soils. From a single large block (unusual for Saint Emilion) the vineyard is divided by Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) grapes with an average of 25 years old.
The wine is vinified in a cement tank with a temperature control. Then the wine (is) aged in new French oak (40%), used French barrel (40%) and the rest in stainless steel vat for an average of 16 months depending on the vintage.
