    2014 Ausone 1er Grand Cru St Emilion (Case - 3/150cl)

    60% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot. 85% New Oak. 27 hl/ha. 14000 bts. Deep purple but not as deep as some years, as per the vintage as a whole. There is complexity on the nose here. You can smell the terroir, layered aromas, with violets and black fruit. On the palate it sits well very cool and caressing, the tannins are not aggressive at all, gentle and seductive, but it is still in a leaner vintage style, elegant rather than powerful. Toast and charcoal on the finish, very broad, palate and finish here, a polished performance. Very fine. 94-96/100 2030-2050+. Nickolls & Perks - W J Gardener Decanter 18.75/20 JS 95-96/100
