2012 Chambolle 1er cru 'Les Sentiers' Dom Stephane Magnien (Case - 12/75cl)

The Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru,  Les Sentiers is located directly  east of the famous Grand Cru appellation of Bonnes Mares and is on the border of Morey St Denis. 

Stephane Magnien's plot in Les Sentiers is characterised by its deep, clay and limestone soils as well as vines that date back as far as 1927. The wine itself goes through temperature controlled fermentation with indigenous yeast and gentle pigeage. Aging takes place in oak 'la piece' for 12 months (10% new oak), followed by 3 months in stainless steel tanks. Bottling occurs without fining or filtration.

The resulting wine is one of impressive purity and precision. Elegance, delicacy and balance is the this wines raison d'etre.
