2011 Graham's (Case - 6/75cl)

Grahams traditionally only deems three or four years a decade worthy of declaration, and this latest is only the third declared vintage since 2000. However 2011 was a resounding success in each of their five Douro vineyards (representing 205 hectares of cultivation), with ideal viticultural and perfect harvesting conditions. Grahams Vintage Port represents a very small proportion of production, accounting for only 8,000 cases out of a total output of 88,850. The 2011 is a Vintage Port which bears all the hallmarks of Grahams, with its phenomenal richness and depth of structure. It is destined for great longevity. They say they have worked very hard to avoid mouthpuckering tannins. Managed quite differently even though the IPT is as high as its ever been. Meaty and concentrated. Really covers the palate – full width. Seems drier than most of the components on the finish but thoroughly exciting and complete. Spicy and noble. Minerally finish. jancisrobinson.com Drink: 2025 to 2060 Rating : 19
