Wines are offered for sale in three locations: IB, DP or EXC.

Wine offered DP (Duty Paid) are subject to VAT. VAT is only chargeable on wines sold in the UK and to EC customers who are not VAT and Excise registered.  Duty paid wines sold  for export can be purchased nett of VAT.

Wines offered lying IB (In Bond) are subject, on removal to duty paid status, to VAT and UK excise duty which currently stands @ £16.10 per case 12/75cl or equivalent for still red or white and £20.66 per 12/75cl for Sparkling Wine and Vintage Port.

Wines lying EXC (Ex Cellars) are treated commercially identically to those lying IB. They are physically lying abroad but will be shipped to our UK bond free of charge. When they arrive they will be lying In Bond.

Collections

We are pleased to receive clients at our Stourbridge Cellars for the purpose of wine collections. Collection hours are 10 am - 4 pm Tuesday to Saturday. Ideally, please notify of your intention to collect goods a week in advance.

Deliveries within Great Britain

Our nationwide door to door deliveries are processed by ADS Couriers who are the leading specialists in the transportation of quality wine. We are able to identify exact delivery days for our clients but unfortunately cannot give specific delivery times. UK delivery charges are subject to VAT.

Orders up to £100 (ex-VAT), £12.50 per consignment.

Orders over £100 (ex-VAT), £10 per consignment.

Orders to the Scottish Highlands are a £25 flat rate.

Please note deliveries to Northern Ireland and offshore islands are subject to surcharges (see table below).

Export Deliveries

We are pleased to organise the delivery of fine wines to our export clients. We use a variety of specialist shipping companies who operate successfully in the individual continents of the world. Due to the costs involved economies of scale are prevalent. Wines of high value, and, or reasonably large consignments of perhaps 60 bottles are relatively economical to distribute on a global basis. Following considerable research we are pleased to offer details of expected shipping costs to a number of prominent destinations. We will be pleased to make more definitive quotations on request.

In many events Excise duties will be levied in the country of destination. The individual circumstances for each country tend to be different, details of which we will be pleased investigate on your behalf.

*Excepting heavier single champagne bottles and single bottle gift boxes which are charged at the next band rate.

STORAGE DETAILS

DUTY PAID

Storage conditions at Nickolls & Perks are ideally suited to the preservation of fine wines. Our sixteenth century sandstone vaults allow natural temperature control.  High security environment. Insurance covers wine in reserve at full replacement value.

IN BOND

In Bond storage is facilitated at Octavian in Wiltshire, the U.K. premier wine storage facility. The conditions at this old munitions base, 100 metres below ground are unrivalled, offering temperature control, In Bond facility and full replacement value insurance. The wines are stored under each client’s individual "Protection Plus" account number, fully labelled and can only be released or moved with his or her written instructions. No right of lien can be exercised over wines held on each client's behalf. Client’s stock can be inspected, by arrangement, at any time excluding November & December.
