Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a commemoration of Alexander Walker’s remarkable 1867 Old Highland Whisky. Its epic story is one that has seen it travel it from the four corners of Scotland, to the four corners of the earth.

Using blending skills learnt from his father, carefully honed through the blending of teas and spices from the New World, Alexander Walker harnessed whisky flavours from across Scotland to craft a blend of truly rare quality and sent it 'wherever ships could sail'.

The Jewel in the Crown of the Johnnie Walker family commemorates the granting of the Royal Warrant by King George V in 1934 to suply Scotch to the Royal Household. This is one of the most distinctive blends ever created, giving you a chance to savour tastes and flavours from the time of King George V. It is blended from some of the rarest whiskies in Scotland, including Port Ellen, a distillery that no longer exists.
All whiskies used in the blend come from distilleries operational during the reign of King George. These rare and special whiskies give Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V a unique, rich and distinctive flavour. Especially designed for gift giving, exquisitely detailed packaging with an exclusive crystal decanter and individually numbered certificate of authencity.
The aroma is rich, profound sweet smoky signature, the Port Ellen gives a rich indulgent nose to the blend - astringent and deep. Followed by sweet, fresh fruit (apples, pears, bananas), this Speyside Whisky is characterised by the Cardhu malt whisky style. Youthful grains add to the sweetness. Malt characteristics overlayed by rich dried fruit/ spicy complexity (raisins, figs, cinnamon). These flavours come from using European Oak in the blend. Royal Lochnagar has a dramatic role in building these taste profiles.

Best savoured with the palate cleansed and cooled by iced water. Johnnie Walker Blue Label has a mellow, rounded nose, with a dry smokiness (a Johnnie Walker signature flavour) mixed with raisin sweetness. The first sip reveals a velvety mouth-feel, then an explosion of flavour - hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges. Subsequent sips reward you with more hidden secrets like kumquats, wispy aromatic smoke, sandalwood, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Then there’s a rich and uniquely long and satisfying finish of smoke and pepper, ending with a glorious touch of spice.
