Crystallum is highly regarded among South African winerys, but Peter-Allen Finlayson is not resting on his laurels. His continued efforts to improve the quality of the wines saw the discovery of new sources of excellent fruit, and some reduction in the quantity of new oak used in maturation.
This is a delcious blend of Swartland Syrah, and Grenache and Mourvedre produced from grapes growin in Hemel-en-Arde Valley.
Crystallum wines is a small, family run and privately owned winery based in the Walker Bay region of South Africa.
The brothers are the third generation of Finlayson winemakers and the sons of the man who pioneered Pinot Noir making in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. Andrew is an Architect by training and Peter-Allan studied philosophy and economics at the University of Stellenbosch. It did not however, take long for the lure of wine to pull them back into the cellar.
The company was started in 2007 with 4134 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc produced. The 2008 vintage saw the introduction of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Crystallum is now exclusively producing these Burgundian varieties. – Crystallum Team
Starts off quite subtly, then has an open, chewy, interesting fruit flavour with more than a hint of oxidative character about it. That's not to say it's un-fresh, more that it doesn't rely on pure, ripe fruit. Really lovely.
Our nationwide door to door deliveries are processed by leading specialists in the transportation of quality wines and spirits. We aim to keep things as simple as possible and have opted for a flat consignment charge of £5 +VAT to mainland UK destinations. We are able to facilitate morning deliveries(before 10am & Midday) and Saturday deliveries for an extra charge, please contact us and we will see what can be done.
NB Deliveries to the Highlands & Islands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly will incur delivery surcharges.

As a rough guide most standard (75CL) single bottles weigh 2KG and a case (12 x 75CL bottles) weighs 24KG.
In Bond storage is facilitated at Octavian in Wiltshire, the U.K's premier wine storage facility. The conditions at this old munitions base, 100 metres below ground are unrivalled, offering temperature control, In Bond facility and full replacement value insurance. The wines are stored under each client's individual "Protection Plus" account number, fully labelled and can only be released or moved with his or her written instructions. No right of lien can be exercised over wines held on each client's behalf. Client's stock can be inspected, by arrangement, at any time excluding November & December.
