This Californian Chardonnay is sourced from the Shirtail Creek vineyard. This land, associated with tempering effects of the Pacific ocean, is perfect for growing this varietal. Its bouquet is led by fresh lemon zest and followed by baked apple and tropical fruit! The sweetness of the fruit is perfectly balanced with tangy acidity!
Great with a grilled fish with caper butter!
The Hess family have been involved with the drinks trade since 1844 with Johan Heinrich Hess, a Swiss man who founded a brewery in Bern, Switzerland. For around 100 years, beer was the main focus until Donald Hess inherited the business in 1960. While he made several profitable investments and created the Swiss mineral water brand, Valser, Donald Hess demonstrated a particular interest in wine. The first estate founded was Hess wines, located on Mount Veeder, and has since acquired several more vineyards in California as well as property in Argentina and South Africa.
Donald Hess is not interested in micromanaging the activities of the business, leaving expert winemakers to take care of the produce!
The Hess Collection represents an array of single varietal wines from Napa Valley and Mount Veeder estates in California.
