Having been so enthused by our client's reaction to the Boreham Wood Sauvignon Blanc, we are really pleased to add this delicious Riesling to our New Zealand selection. The Clark family are seriously good winemakers, the expression acheived here is authentic, full of zingy citrus, with petrol and herbaceous flavours riding on a lovely rich textured, and long finish.

The Awatere Valley is known for its relatively harsh climate with strong winds and morning frosts in spring working to harden the vines for the high temperatures of summer followed by the cool nights in autumn. As a result the vines struggle and we are able to harvest small, well matured grapes of typical Awatere finesse and flavour.

The 2014 Riesling is a pure, sustainable, single vineyard Awatere Valley wine.
Information About Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood is one of two labels adopted by the Clark family who hail from Boreham Wood a small village north of London. They left city life in 1998 to try a new life growing grapes in Marlborough. We like the purity of the fresh grassy Kiwi fruit and have taken the Sauvignon Blanc since the 2006 vintage.

Tasting Date : 01 October 2015

Pale platinum gold, faint diesel, an exotic character, quite creamy with, mango hints, touch of pineapple, lovely zip on the palate, lime and lemon, so fresh and clean. It drifts off a little but a lovely charming light wine. Gold medal winning, you can see why. Great value. 88/100 drink now 2020

Rating : 88/100

Producer's Notes

With floral aromas of lemon and lime, citrus blossom and perfumed hints of musk, pineapple and apricot the aromatics of this wine are instantly inviting. Flavours of honey, apricot, papaya and orange are backed by lovely mineral overtones, a sweet crisp acidity and a fresh lasting finish.
