This natural Champagne cuvee is made up from 70% Charrdonnay and 30% Pinot Noir and has remarkable elegance.

Marguet Pere et Fils are probably the most important producer of natural wines in Champagne. All their vines and grapes are grown using exclusively organic and biodynamic methods, before being vinified on their indiginous yeast. The final bottled wine is unfined and unfiltered with zero-dosage and with no added sulphites!

Suitable for Vegans!

Information About Champagne Marguet Pere et Fils
Champagne Marguet Pere et Fils was created in 2005 and is the amalgamation of two much older properties; Champagne Bonnerave and Champagne Marguet. The first of the two properties was founded in 1870 by two Bonnerave brothers. Now the enthusiastic and captivating Benoit Marguet-Bonnerave, the 5th generation of the family, is at the helm.
The estate is comrprised of old vines with and average of age 38 years. 7.30 hectares are located in Ambonnay, lieux dits; Les Saints Remys, Les Beurys, Les Crayeres, La Grande Ruelle, Les Bermonts, Le Parc. 0.7 hectares are located in Bouzy, lieux dits; Les loges, Les Hannepes.
Farmed organically and where possible biodynamically, the base wines from each cru are vinified separately in tanks and small oak barrels. The soil ploughed with draft horses, the well being of the soil is a priority at Marguet Pere et Fils. According to the historian M A Wagner, the horse is a holy, not predatory animal, which contributes in the social and spiritual balance, a theory that is backed up by Champagne Marguet proprietor Benoit Marguet-Bonnerave.

Tasting Date : 01 November 2013

(Made from 70% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir; L0905): Light, bright gold. Sexy, floral aromas of pear, citrus fruit and redcurrant, along with notes of buttered toast and gingery spices. At once fleshy and energetic, offering intense orchard fruit and red berry flavors and a refreshing jolt of bitter citrus pith. Closes on a spicy note, with excellent clarity and smoky persistence. I really like this Champagne's blend of depth, power and energy.

Rating : 92/100
