1998 was a pretty year for this wine! Somewhat unusually, this blend contains all five Bordeaux grapes, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Black fruits are dominant on the nose, with coffee, chocolate and leather. Good volume on the palate and nice length! Drink this one soon!

Information About Chateau Gruaud Larose

While it has spent a great deal of its history as two separate estates, Chateau Gruaud Larose has its roots in a single estate founded in 1725. It remained split for over two hundred years before the Cordier family purchased both halves of the estate, reuniting them in 1935.

The estate is located in the Medoc region, producing two wines from each of the historical estates, Gruaud Larose and Sarget.
