The Bernard Defaix vines in the appellation of Chablis spread over 12 hectares, situated at the heart of the Chablisian vineyard. This village wine is aged in stainless steel tanks so as to respect the typicity of the appellation, characterised by freshness, power and tenacity. Minerality is so evident in the cool climate Chardonnay wines, and the 2010 vintage is just as obvious as it gets.

8 hectares were cultivated of this Premier Cru, located on the slopes of the village Milly and on the right backs of the river Serein. Bernard Defaix are the biggest owners of this cru. When some of the plots were planted,impressive fossils of Exogyra virgula that had been  perfectly preserved were found. The remarkable stony and sunny soil is captured in this powerful and complex wine. It flourishes with age and expresses mineral aromas reminiscent of gunflint. The Côte de Lechet is indeed one of the Premiers Crus of the Chablisian vineyard with the most exceptional ageing potential.

This 2010 San Veran follows the rich, minerally, complex style of all the Bourdon wines, blended from vineyard plots in two separate villages, Leynes to the South and Davaye to the north. The quality of this award winning wine comes shining through on the vivid nutty finish.

This " historical " premier cru belonged to the Crown several centuries ago; which explains its name: Lys (the Lyli flower was the symbol of the  monarchy in France). The premier cru Les Lys is situated between Chablis and Milly, near Les Vaillons. Planted by Bernard in the sixties, this plot used to be blended with the cuvée of Vaillons but is now vinified separately. This premier cru is characterized by its aromatic richness, and its fineness on the mouth. Fruity and rich, the wine can be appreciated alone or to accompany,  for example, fish cooked 'en papillotte'.

We are particularly excited to bring you the 2010 as our first vintage from Philippe and Arlette's Montagny estate in the centre of Southern Burgundy or 'The Chalonnais' as it is otherwise known. Matured in tank for 9 months, this shows brilliantly the expression the terroir, great minerality with plenty of Chardonnay generosity.

Defaix's 1er Cru Vaillons is a blend of cuvees from two main plots, young and old vines vinified separately. The wine emodies freshness and floral hints, with structure and finesse. A wine to savour for upto six years after the vintage.

The quality of Bruno Colin's entry level Chardonnay cuvee is striking particularly in this fine vintage. Steely long and sleek, with plenty of tension and caressing fruit on the palate. Its not difficult to see why these wines are becoming very difficult to secure.

Based in th village of Pouilly the Bourdon familiy have been creating brilliant Pouilly Fuisse for over 150 years. This 2010 Cuvee tradition is unoaked, offering a pure expression of Chardonnay, fresh zingy fruit with acacia and hawthorn notes and a nutty honeyed, generous finish.

Bourdon's 2010 Reserve Pouilly Fuisse is aged for 10 months in oak, adding an extra creamy element to the complex cocktail of troplical and minerally fruit. An extra lift here.

The vineyard is situated on the best exposed slopes of the Maranges villages next to Santenay. This wine is especially vinified at a low temperature in order to achieve a very fruity and round wine, nice to drink young and able to age very well, at least six years. The Pinot vines are a minimum of 25 years old, on a clay-limestone soil, matured for one year in French oak barrels.

The estate has existed in the hamlet of Pouilly since 1839. Now under its fifth generation of Vessigaud family management, the estate is run by Pierre, and is one among only and handful of organic producers in Pouilly-Fuisse This is of course in addition to the exceptional location of its vineyards. Indeed Pierre's style as a vigneron is almost entirely defined by his meticulous care in the vineyard, as he believes this is where he can do the most to shape the character of the wines. That being said, he also subjects his wines to extended bottle ageing for character and complexity.

The Santenay Beauregard wine is one of the most famous Premiers Crus from Santenay. It is located in the East of Santenay, at 500 metres from the terroirs of Chassagne Montrachet. This area is called “Beauregard” simply because from there is a very beautiful panoramic view. Facing South-East, this terroir is ideal to produce Chardonnay wines. With exclusively 25 years old Chardonnay vines covering a surface area of 0,60 ha., the soli is predominantly stony clay-limestone. The fermented must is matured for 8 month in French oak barrels. This is a great value white Burgundy showing exceptional minerality and great value.

The Gravières wines are produced in one of the most famous Santenay “climat”. This particularly well exposed “terroir” produces rich wines, that benefit from very good ageing potential. 35 year old Pinot Noir vines on a stony clay-limestone soil rich in iron. Working method: Vines sown with grass- leaves thinned out. Maturing: 1 year in French oak barrels-40% new oak.

This Meursault from Henri Boillot, a fifth generation winegrower, carries all the hallmarks of the commune, lots of buttery intensity, generous and evocative, with a steely finish. Simply one of the best village Meursaults.

Henri Boillot is quite nonchalent when presenting his wines, such is the confidence in the raw materials at his disposal. For a village level Puligny this is quite oustanding quality, great balance and so much personality.
