Chateau Lafite Rothschild

One of the five first growths of Bordeaux, and probably the most famous of them all. Located right at the northern limit of Pauillac, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend with the soil made up of fine deep gravel, mixed with aeolian sand on a subsoil of tertiary limestone. It is well-drained and well-exposed to the sun. The finesse and elegance at Lafite is undeniable.

2012 was not a historic year for Chateau Lafite since the poor weather resulted in uneven ripening of grapes. However, the wines which were created were still incredibly well made and will make for enjoyable drinking over the next decade or so!
